All your specs looks fine, so this is a bit of a mystery..
Are you on win10 or 11 ...or earlier ?
Did you DL LMMS 1.2.2 from our site: https://lmms.io/download#windows ?
thank you for getting back to me,
I'm on windows 10 pro
and that was the download link i used

My only guess is that the installation somehow is flawed..
I have installed lmms ~ 500+ times, and never had a failed installation, so this is strange.
I recommend you to get rid of current lmms
and then:
*(re)move the config dot-file
Go to
C:\Users\<Username>\
There you have the dot-config file: .lmmsrc.xml
Move it to a different folder.
Finally download a completely new install from that site, and install with Administrate rights.

Let us know the outcome :)
All of these are supposed to be in the same folder as the application.
How did you install it? By double-clicking LMMS installer, or by opening it in 7zip and copying? Are you an administrator user?
Here is my suggestion.
Get LMMS installer, and open it with 7Zip. Then extract ALL files to the same folder named "LMMS," and open that folder and double-click LMMS.exe inside it.
It will definitely work.

But then all tutorials, articles in gitBook and help-requests answers, would be void.
The installer does 'usually' not fail.
There must be something in windows settings, that has botched the normal process. I wish i knew what -If it was a plain NO-GO process, and all was refused, then it would be rights-settings, but its not.. Its just some dll's that is dropped.
Like the installation was interrupted.. idk
musikbear, as someone who has installed 1.3 alpha using the 7zip extraction method and 1.2.0 as a normal install,
The tutorials typically hold. So far I have never seen something break that wouldn't have broken anyways. Neither have I seen something work in an unexpected way from normal because it was extracted for installation.
We don't know exactly what has happened, but there is a botched install. I'm simply suggesting a method of avoiding that.
That being said, OP, try reinstalling.
