why isn't the manifest file include when LMMS is installed?
I believe it would mean problems for all with less advanced monitors, but great that you got it working :)
Still, there are ways to give the user an option that doesn't involve searching this site or googling, such as:
- include the manifest file, but with a different name, and at installation, tell the user what to do if the windows and text are too small (i.e. rename the manifest file), or
- build some smarts into LMMS that can identify the monitor being used, and change GUI parameters accordingly

After all, I haven't come across any other software that suffers from this problem. How did their developers solve it?
lmms cant include other software. we can help with the solution referencing the link i gave you, then its up to the user to apply the necessary change.
Regarding 'other software' -Afaik do exactly the same.
The "other software" is an open-source text file! Anyone can include the algorithm in their application, but the point is that LMMS shouldn't need someone else's code to work properly on all platforms.
I tried inserting the manifest text file into the LMMS 1.1.3 folder but nothing is changing.... I'm not really sure what to do.

I suggest you update to the newest RC, and retry with the manifest:

Orange buttons

* Install as admin! -and grant all users access!
* Don't install inside your windows-folder
