is there any video tutorials on how to do this?
Yes there must be. Renaming files is not really LMMS related, but solely related to knowledge about using your pc.
Lets start with the OS
OS Operative System!
Lmms supports
* Windows
* Linux
* Mac (limited)

Witch one of those do you have installed?

It wont let me open or rename the bak file on lmms? I also cannot find any of my songs in program files. Thanks for your time
If you want to remove a certain file extension in windows, left click on the file once and then 1 second later left click it again, it will highlight the name and then you can remove the unwanted part (.Bak) by using your mouse to highlighting the part you dont want and pressing back button on keyboard.

Be sure to remove the dot after mmpz, so it should read like this,

.mmpz

And not like this,

.mmpz.

..actually LMMS opens .BAK just as if it was a mmpz file, so you can just double-click, and it will open in LMMS as a std project!
Then use File| Save-as
And name the project anything you like, and
* add .mmpz if you like a zipped small project
or
* add .mmp if you like an un-zipped project in bigger size, but in simple xml-format
I just saved my project and after 3 minutes or so i went to see if it was saved and i could not find it in projects in the software so i went to files to search it up and there it was, the new file and the bak file and both i cannot opet at all, please help me i was working on it for a couple of hours and i am pretty frustrated about it, thank you! :)

The plausible reason on windows is that the files are saved in the program-files directory
Windows does not allow users to do that, and files can act strangely.
The default path to your projects ought to be
C:\Users\<name>\Documents\lmms\projects
Could you check it it is so in Settings:
https://docs.lmms.io/user-manual/getting-started/setup

Opening files from windows-browser should be possible by double-click, btw.

You do not tell us what recovery-file it is you have issue with
If you have read this thread, you should now know that there are .BAK files and there is the pure recover.mmp(z). Since you are calling it 'recover' i assume that it is the recover.mmpz (?)
If you have had a crash, LMMS will keep the file named recover.mmpz in its system-folder.
When you have resolved from the crash, and reopen LMMS you will be presented with a popup, telling you that a recovery-file exists, and you are asked if you want to recover the project,

https://docs.lmms.io/user-manual/4-production/4.1

here you must choose the option recover.
If you chose 'ignore', then the file is imediately deleted and the project is gone!
