MIDI keyboard key/note-mapping?

I just recently got lmms and connected my MIDI keyboard/drumpad to it. when i assign it to an instrument all the keys are assigned to very low notes (like everything c2 and below.) I am wondering is there some kind of menu or plugin so that i can change what note each key plays easily? i heard dragging the green cube along is supposed to help but it sounds the same.

Welcome to the forums. What MIDI keyboard is it ? What LMMS instruments have you tried ?

Have you checked your keyboard's instructions ? Every MIDI keyboard that I've seen (with less than 88 keys) has settings/buttons to change the octave they're sending notes in. That's usually better than fiddling with it in LMMS.
