getting pianoroll-keyboard key mapping

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi,
I intend to use the computer keyboard to input notes on to the pianoroll. I just want to know if there is a window that shows which keys of keyboard correspond to which piano keys, and lets you remap this.

Also trying to connect vmpk to lmms. I read that I have to use qjackctl but I dont understand the process well.

Vmpk, as in virtual midi piano keyboard? :)
http://vmpk.sourceforge.net/
If so,....interesting. :)
Edited 10/28/17 remapping solution option: use freepiano going into lmms with loopbe1
I
got using freepiano and vmpk to work as a midi controller and output notes to LMMS under windows 64bit using LoopBE1 (free for personal but not professional use), which installs a virtual internal midi device in the windows device manager.
For VMPK, freepiano
VMPK - doesn't support holding 2 keys at once, that I could get to work. Someone might have using the & key

FreePiano - supports changing keys and almost all keys on the pc keyboard, found out flat/sharp black keys are controlled by the KS+/- keys mapped to F3 and F4
OCTAVES - octaves are confusing with -1 but changing the octaves changes many of the keys on the pc keyboard to reflect this.
Keyboardmapping in freepiano- there is scripting and you can right-click a key on the keyboard to remap.

Why is the remapping not possible? Is it hard-coded?
Is there maybe a config file to change the mapping?

The issue is, the lower row (keys "z" through "m") is mapped to octave 3, then the ",", "." and "/" keys are C,D,E notes of octave 4.
It is reasonable to have the upper rows to the rest of octave 4, i.e.:
"q","w","e" and "r" are F,G,A,B of octave 4, "t"-"p" and "[" is octave 5.

However, the "q" row is mapped to the beginning of octave 4, while bracket keys do nothing.
I assume this is simply due to the fact that positions of brackets and dots are different between the various layouts.

Still, it is not a reason to have hard-coded controls.
A simple text file with a map would do great. I can even help implementing it.

That you are most welcome to!
