Hi. I'd love some comments/thoughts on my album, please.

Hi,

It's an interesting genre. I suggest to use compression, instead of having the instrument go over the maximum volume!

That would make the noises a bit more smooth.

I'd be interested to listen to your reference songs, what do you want to reproduce, or if it's a completely different genre.
Hi - thanks for the feedback. I'm not referencing anyone in particular; I'm just playing with tracks and sounds and seeing what I like.
Can you explain more what you mean by compression?
Listened to reverse muse.
This is not my genre :)
You have massive clipping, but i almost think that it is on purpose? The thing is. The distortion you get from clipping is not controllable. That mean that you cant know how you music sounds in someone else's speakers.
Instead of clipping-distortion, you should use a crusher or similar
Camel-crusher used to be free, but i believe it has been gone to commercial
An alternative is Baby-blue. I have linked to that in our VST DB

A compressor will kind of 'keep' all sounds inside certain limits, often you use compressor on percussion, in order to keep hats balanced with the kick. a different approach is to use a limiter.

You can find a buttload of free (I'm not sure how free) bitcrushers here

I like CMT myself and that's the one I use for my Mayo Staccato voice
I've never heard music like this before.
But I'll be honest, this is not my style of music, but still, it's an interesting musical album. :)
The Bell tower track, sounds nice though. :)
Thank you very much for the info and links re. compression. cheers.
