SOLVED: No sound in LMMS after exporting to .wav

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I have a problem where every time I export something, afterwards, I'm left with no sound when I resume working in LMMS, so I have to close LMMS and re-open it and the sound comes back after doing that. I don't know if it would happen when exporting to .ogg because I haven't tried exporting in that format yet. My audio settings interface is PortAudio with Windows DirectSound as back end and my audio device is RealTek AC97 Audio. I'm running LMMS on Windows XP. Can anyone help me out? :?
My audio settings interface is PortAudio
and that works better for you than SDL?
I would try SDL and listen if thats not better than PA
(PA is known for making cracl-noises for most -but perhaps you have the right HW)
But for a test sake - try SDL and export, and see if the sound behaves ok then
Do report your result - it would be interesting to know

I changed the setting to SDL, exported and did have sound afterwards.

Unfortunately, there were more crackles during playback than I had with PortAudio, so I switched back to the latter. It was a tiny project only intended as a sample too, nothing crazy and long with tons of FX and stuff.

I'm gonna be experimenting a bit more to find a setting that works the best. I haven't put much thought into finding the right setting until now. If I do find the right balance then I'll come back and just edit it into this post.

I have 6400 frames / 146 as my SDL settings -perhaps that could be worth a try

These are my current settings:

Frames: 10240
Latency: 232.2 ms

I tried everything. SDL works, and after exporting a .wav file, the sound is still there BUT there is a lot more crackling and snapping during playback. I tried it with the above settings at max and at the much lower default level, and still, it's super crackly.

A few didn't work at all, and with some settings I was confronted with the audio settings menu when I'd start up LMMS (it said there was no sound output). The remainder of the options resulted in an unusable, super slo-mo, static sound.

I'm just stick with my original settings I mentioned in this and my first post for now. ;)

EDIT:

Well, after coming back to the forum for the first time since I last posted, and looking in the Tutorials forum, I found this thread:

https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/lmms ... ?f=3&t=283

I followed the instructions, and I found that my problem was, well, no longer a problem ;) .

I did find one difference, given that I'm using a US-based Windows XP interface and the screenshot provided was based on the European variation. In my case there was only one "Sound" tab in that window, as opposed to three as the author had.
