LMMS and FL

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
(I'm putting this here since there's no "off topic" section)
(Also, you should read the whole thing, but if you're rally bored, just go to the TL;DR at the end)
I'm considering switching to the Cubase family, starting with elements, so while I was thinking about it, I realised the next best version, artist, is only fifty dollars less than FL studio, so I started wondering if it made sense to go with Cubase instead of fl.
I am generally biased towards Cubase, and don't like fl as much because of how many times I've heard that mixing and mastering isn't easy, the lack of score editing, and a bunch of other things. So then I thought about LMMS, and realized, it's pretty powerful. Then I realized, in about a year (or maybe 2), it'll probably be just as powerful.
TL;DR So what I'm considering is going with Cubase elements then artist (full seems unnecessary), and then when I want things that I can do in fl, I'll use LMMS, because of how similar it will be by the time I buy Cubase artist (in about a year). Do you agree/think I should do this?
If you're saving up for Cubase Artist anyway it doesn't really make sense to me to spend 1/3 of its price on Cubase Elements. I would just stick to using the free LMMS until you've got the money saved up.

If you need notation/score editing there are free software for that too. For example MuseScore: http://musescore.org/en

LMMS is obviously inspired by, and similar to, FL Studio. But I'm not sure the goal of LMMS is to copy FL 1:1. So your hopes of the two becoming more similar in the future might not be realized. But then again LMMS may turn out to be much better than FL!
I would rather get elements sooner because I really like it so far, so and it won't cost any extra to get it then upgrade. Also, I'm 12 and I'm getting it for my birthday, so you can understand why I can't get artist right away.
Btw if you look at the roadmap, the devs' plans look exciting, and better than FL studio
I think I'll go with my plan because I need something solid until LMMS achieves everything that's on the roadmap, because I really like the VSTi automation, send effects, and overall stability in Cubase. But LMMS isn't losing a user, it still has some things that elements doesn't, and will have some that Cubase doesn't.
Btw I already use musescore and love it, but I need better integration like with Cubase. And frankly, the full version has the best score editor ever, better than finale or musescore (I'm not sure about Sibelius though). But until then, muse score and finale notepad it is.
