VSTs wont load when opening LMMS project file

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
limmes wrote:I But - Any file with a vst takes much longer to load.
Do you mean 'longer than previously' -eg before you had piano1 installed? -or just longer in general
It does take longer to load projects that has vsts. DSKEtheral pads can take 15-20 sekd..
Again it has to do with how the vst is build. Etheral loads some 100 mb of data at once -Other vsts has better memory management, and will only load the patch that you actually ask for.
See in lmms ..9 i think, a new feature was introduced. Autosave
Autosave adressed the problem with frequently crashes, and subsequently loss of work. Now lmms saved every 30. secd to a restore file.
oki -but that had a HUGE impact. If the user did something manually at the same time, the overhead would lead to a freeze.
I advized a method against this problem. Only load anything in lmms in play-back mode.
The reason is that in playback-mode, autosave is disabled, and the cpu-load-spikes wont apear. RC1 adresses this problem. autosave is optional! -But RC1 is not meant for anything but testing, so at the moment, the autosave 'bug' is a problem, more so with vsts, because they do take longer to handle, and will collide with the autosave-spikes. But all this is acient history. I think i have explained this 'bug' some 20 times here on the forum already, and you properly already knew :p
I was sidetracked -quistion remain:
Do you mean 'longer than previously' -eg before you had piano1 installed?
<musikbear> the vst's take longer in general, and thank you for your quick reply.
the vst's take longer in general
oki, thats normal, and expected. It has to do with how vsts handle their banks, but you can always use Synth1 as reference, Synth1 loads nice and fast.
You may like to take a look at the temp-folder, that could be a reason if it is crowds your default work directory. Good luck.
Yeah! Synth 1 alway's almost works well together, with Lmms.
Lmms and Synth 1 seem to be very good friends. :D
It seldom crashes my Win 7 64 Bit laptop.
Very nice Vsti Synth.
Remember guys what music bear said in 2011
If you actually load a project from windows-explorer -eg asociated open, then vst's does not load!
If you use the browser that is part of LMMS, then you should have no problem loading any vst that is listed on the wiki as the 'tested vsts'.
So -do you use LMMS' own browser in the sidebar, or did you load the file associated by double-clicking in win-explorer?
