ZynAddSubFX only exports at 44.1khz

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Using LMMS 0.4.15, Linux, ALSA.

I've noticed some VSTi's do the same, but now I have the same problem with ZynAddSub. There seems to be an option in the ZynAddSub main window to change the sample rate, but if I change it it does nothing, it just changes back to 44.1khz.

So it's possible it's somehow hardcoded to set to the same sample rate that LMMS outputs sound at? Is there a way to force it to produce higher sample rate sound?
I just figured out a sort-of workaround for instruments that only output 44.1k sound.

If you adjust the instrument to play an octave lower than it's "supposed" to, you can then export it at 88.2khz and it will sound as it's supposed to but with better quality. Sadly this won't help with drum machines such as TS808, but it's at least something. It's at least 2x better...

I haven't tried this yet with ZynAddSub, but I did try it with a VST monosynth and it seems to work fine. With ZynAddSub, you of course have to take in account pitch-controlled envelopes, if you use such things...
