in the process of an upcoming collab,i remixed/updated the first song i ever made on LMMS.

i didn't really change much more from the original song than adding new sounds
I don't think the link to the remix works.

thank you for telling me. i had to re upload the song because it had cut off,
It's an impressive tune you made here.
And all of those synth sounds, were literally put to good use in it. :)

Okay: Tips and advice time.

I can hear some clipping in the track, especially when the kick drum sound plays.
A good example of this, is from 6 secs to 13 secs, when the kick sound comes in
you can almost easily hear, the clipping/clicky noise clearly.

The entire track, has good volume range.
Although in some parts of the track, it's a bit too loud.
--------

But overall, impressive work on this track dude. :)

I don't actually hear clipping and I think it's because I get used to it. After playing it for hours to make sure it's right
But I definitely noted that I need to personalise the individual drum samples to sound less clacky and more natural in the track.
I change the volume so often while making this track, I'm not suprised that I let it get too loud.
The second link is broken. I listened to the new version via your homepage.

This new version is better. Via my cheap headphones, I listen to some crunch along the bass, also on the track called hopefully the last version of snektrip (I do not know if my headphones are still in good condition ...).

PS: Maybe these crunches match the clipping of which brandy speaks?

Edited ... I just saw that I put the PS in French ...

PS: peut être que ces craquements correspondent au clipping dont brandy parle?
i listened to it again, and there's cracking no doubt. i dealt with many low quality recordings remixing this song because my friend was gonna rap on it.
luckily i didn't notice anything too wrong with the final snektrip. there was a small impact in the beginning of every note in the bass because it was a downloaded sample from an n64 game.

another thing i notice, is that listening from soundcloud is vastly different from listening to the project on lmms. sometimes it seemed like it was normalizing the volume or something because the bass wasn't as deep, and there were times where i heard two distinct tones in the original sample, but only the dominant one in the soundcloud release.

Regarding crunches or cracling, do you use compressors / limiters? Maybe it comes from there, or maybe from some distortion effects?

I also noticed some differences on SC, my tracks sound a little differently. For my part, I convert them before to mp3 320 with Audacity, which may explain the difference. Idk.
