Want to play with electric guitar in LMMS?

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
1. Find "GeneralUser GS SoftSynth v1.44.sf2" sound font (actually a sound font bank). It's freely available in several places. Check that you can use it with LMMS SF2 player.
2. Find "CaliforniaSun.dll" (i.e. AuraPlug California Sun) VST also available in several places. Put that to LMMS VST directory.
3. Open a new project in LMMS. Load SF2 Player, select GeneralUser... file and Distortion Guitar patch.
4. Click add effect in FX-Mixer channel that SF2 Player uses. Default is Master channel, use that, if you don't want more channels. Add California Sun VST.
5. Now you can test with SF2 Players keyboard.

There are numerous good guitar MIDI files around, they sound good with this setup.

This may not be most realistic setup, but it sounds quite good. You can't beat the price (free)! :D

There are many other amp plugins, if you want to try. LePou plugins work with LMMS.
Sound example for this setup:

Using some MIDI found in net.
Try waveshaper for distortion. It can tweak your guitar sound all the way to a square wave if you so wish...
I've heard the sound example... This soundfont is so real :D
