I need help with trying to make this swirly pad sound.

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Okay guys. Gps, musikbear, anyone.... :)
I have some problems, with making this particular sound, in Synth 1. :P
And it's a tricky one.

I watched this classic Synth 1 tutorial, and tried to replicate the cool swirly pad sound
exactly like heard, in the vid. But for some strange reason, it doesn't sound like how it sounds
in the vid, and I don't get the super swirly effect, in the pad sound either. :P

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJc_sNvsw7Y

You can hear the sound from 2:03 secs.

But the one from 2:10 secs onwards, is da boss swirly sound, I'm trying to replicate
for a trance tune I'm working on. :)

I attempted this quest, about 5 plus times already.
I'm beginning to wonder, if that older version of synth 1 used in the tut, might have something
that the latest synth 1 doesn't have, or a setting that I don't know of.

In the youtube comments, I noticed that Teeza Music, couldn't replicate the sound either.
So I know I'm not alone here. And what he/she said, about the initial sound being different
was quite interesting too.

If you guys follow the vid, and try to replicate that sound in Synth 1, tell me how it goes for you.
Hopefully, you all get through. And maybe you can tell me, what I'm doing wrong. :P
One problem I think I notice, he does not start from the default synth1 sound.

Edit:
When I start at 63 default preset my synth1 does not really sound like the vid.

He is also using an older version, the gui is a bit different on mine.

I tried for 15 min or so, but my synth1 does not sound like his. I am confused.
I seem to have all the knobs set like the vid.

That's the same thing I was going though. :P
It's so mind boggling. :P

tried to replicate the cool swirly pad sound
I just listened to the 2:10, and i can hear 2 things:

Obs that the effect is pr/note
Eg you need to do as i showed here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNDSCMp9uY4
That gives you the pr/note instead of default pr/beat/time,
2. it is all in the 'automated' filter
He binds the filter (red-diode) to the lfo, and get it to open pr. note, so when he press, the filter is closed, but will open over the duration of the note
Thats what create the 'swirl' as you called it. It is a sweep over a discrete filter-envelope, with a lot of resonance

Interesting info. I read everything you wrote. :D
I had a feeling, the filter has a big part in that sound.
Okay. I'm going to watch your tut now. :D
Bump!

Bump!
So no luck with pr-note ?
What exactly is the problem?
I just watched the vid of musicbear again, and I start to wonder, if I can use it, for the vangelis cover.
Gonna try it.

It might be what I need.

@ Brandy why the bump ? :)
