Crashing after importing

I see a lot of questions about crashing after importing MIDI files but I am importing .h2 files and .wav files and immediately after it crashes. initially it told me to put in a general midi sound font which I did, but it still crashes. this seems a bit odd since one of its major functions is to mix music and if I can't import a file than it kinda defeats the purpose. Am I doing something wrong?

Regarding .h2, Hydrogen-kits? You need to Unpack the files in Samples

But your crash with wave-files need to be solved.
There are 2 things i want to stress
*) You cant load resources larger than your RAM
*) Have you waited for the file to load? -It may take a while, if it is a huge file..

Does the wave-files that ships with LMMS also crash?
If the crash-files originate from a karaoke-collection, they can be 'protected', and will fail in other software!


Now we need to know your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* a screenshots of error-state -if any oddness appear
* names size and best download links of the failing wave-file(s)
