Problem loading project that has the "piano one" VST.

Hello lmms community!

I'm new to lmms, and in electronic music in general, trying things, experimenting.

I am searching for free sounds lately, and found a great free piano VST, called "piano one". Everything seems to work fine, BUT, when I save my project, close lmms, and later open lmms and reload the project, lmms reloads everything until the moment it tries to load this specific instrument. It is trying to load it, but never succeeds, so lmms crushes.

I close lmms from the windows (7) processes, and by doing so it closes and i get the message:

Maize Sampler Player

Unable to load this instrument.

After google search the only thing I found is that the "piano one" is build on Maize Sampler Technology, which is not very good, although it's sound for a free VST is so awesome!!

The only solution i can come up with is saving the project using another instrument, and only when the project is done, switch to piano one just for rendering (which by the way seems to be fine). There is always the risk of saving my project when using the "piano one", and if I do so, the project is literally gone (because it crushes when reloading).

Any better solutions? I'm using lmms 1.03 win 64, and the piano one vst is also win 64. I have windows 7.

Unfortunately not all vsts works with lmms, and your description of piano-one problem, looks just like the ones that fails. at the moment no solution exists. You can try one of the pianos form the
http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Tested_VSTs
list, then you should be ok.
But heres some good news: You have not lost any project. When a project 'hangs' all you need to do is to
*close lmms with task-manager (just as you did)
*find the vst-dll that failed
*rename or move it
Reopen lmms and the project
You project will open, and lmms will tell you that a dll is missing, but that is exactly what we wanted to happen. Then just replace the problem vst, with one that works, and your project is ready for a new save.
