Ahhhhh i still see they have the classic "Mr Tramp" vst, absolute class and so good, yet so simple. :D
I do not know what you mean?
There is a vst marked as "mr tramp" on that page it is a simple vst that can create sounds, it is so simple to use :)

You could try 'General'

I'am not using Windows, can't use a Windows .dll file.
Lmms can load it using it's built-in VST plugin hoster, Vestige.
afaik Unfortunately not windows specific dll on linux. If thats not so, -eg win-specific-dlls actually DO work on linux, then please post again here. I always like to learn something :)

One could also argue that unclear speculation is just a spammy mess, but to each their own.

LMMS can load Windows DLLs fine if they can run okay in Wine.
Another option is to use Maestro Concert Grand from Linux Sampler in the Gigasampler (.GIG) file format. Below is a demo of a MIDI file I found online imported into LMMS with some Calf and Stereo reverb applied. This is shameless promotion of the GIG Player plugin that is in master. ;) But really, I've been using soundfont pianos for a long time since I always encounter issues with VSTs. I find this piano more realistic than the soundfonts I was using.

This is in respect to comparing piano sound fonts, I used all the same settings in LMMS just changed sound fs2 files.

This first one is my original Yamaha sound fonts. (That came with my portable grand piano. ysf.sf2) https://jumpshare.com/v/JrOPMHAiCMsN4oDmpvAL

This next one is Roland sound fonts
https://jumpshare.com/v/J7SzNTIQVfGhKL48T2tu

and the last is Steinway

It's a matter of taste which ones you like, But I found the Steinway fonts to be much like a harp sound.

Just make sure you got Wine, you should be good to go with dll's (and other Windows files)
