After 16 min.

Chopped up piano chords.

I am still using much more notes. :(

And wonder if my bass line is wrong. :)

Wrong for house that is.
I am starting to wonder if my base line loop is too long. ( cynical joke, its to musical :P )

According to wiki:

"On and On" (1984) by Jesse Saunders is often cited as the 'first' Chicago house record. It utilized the TB-303, TR-808, Korg Poly-61, minimal vocals, and sampled bassline from Player One's space disco song "Space Invaders" (1979).

The first UK house hit surprised me , it's a track I know well, but not sure I would have called it house,
Its more disco to me, don't ask me why.

Both have a shorter bassline loop, then my track.
Mine is 8 bars, with some variation to make it 16 bars. Both tracks have an 4 bar loop, if I am hearing this right ?

This makes me smile, I hope we all can laugh about this,
They call my track repetitive, but for it to be really house, its not repetitive enough. :P

Somebody could have told me there was a 1 bar limit on the base line loop. ;)

Edit:

Made some progress, I realised I had two basslines, and they did not work together to build the groove.
One is off beat, the other one on and off beat, which was why I had so many issues with one of the basslines, it never sounded right,

Links to latest ver?
I am starting to become more happy, as it being a House track, at least I think so. :P
Would like opinions on that though.

The sound going from right to left, ( white noise ) needs some more work though. Maybe need to add a riser too?

Difference with first version is quite big. :) Second vocal sample added. ( not idea what she shouts, but it sounds nice I think )

I think I made a break through last night, with changing the second bass line, and ended up going to bed at 5 lol.
Second base line starts at 0.19.

Its progressive house, and although I am not sure this already existed when house started, I can live with that.

Allot of house track have vocals, and I can't sing, so I need to compromise some.

Or email alison moyet if she is busy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLTGs4fqxBk

Good! And House. I would reuse that fine plucky-line you have at the start, for instance in a bar or two @1:28 where you make a change, and its good enough to be used to leave the break, and maby try it also in second part ?
Thank you :)

It was a struggle, but as usual learned allot from it. :)

How to make music without chord progression. lol
I tried to have chord progression, but that failed every time.

The early House is all about an almost continues repeated loop.
With allot of stuff going on like samples, to hide how repetitive it really is. :P

I think I got it, you suggest to have that plucky sound to return sooner.

It is used in the second part too though at 4.53 it returns. Maybe too soft.

You would also put it in the break ? Not sure if thats what you mean ?

About soundcloud.
I like how that sound interacts with the saxophone trumpet, adding to a groove.
I suddenly also notice how the saxophone sound is softer (too soft) at soundcloud.
Especially in that second part. I checked and not like that in lmms.
The saxophone is much more audible in lmms.
We were not talking about he same sound lol.

I think now I do get it, you're suggesting a second and maybe third break ?

No it was the existing break i thought about, kind of making it tie to the fine first part, as an experiment :p It may sound silly
Interesting :)

Will give it a try.

I think that piano sounding melody, should be a bit louder. :geek:
Balancing the volumes, of the bass and the piano melody, might be kinda tough though.
So try your best. :)
