making a song

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
I want to make a 5 min song, is it just a matter of extending the horizontal playline, filling it up to where the measures will number in the 100's?

Is there some sort of consolidation method?

Also, is it possible to align the measure numbers within a track so they align with the overall song?

Absolutely!
All styles has its own structure
As a new songwriter, its a solid foundation to build your new song on a known structure.
Find one or several songs that you really like, that is in the genre you want to compose in, and listen to those great tracks. Count the bars where the track plays in a certain way, and then make your own track with the same setup.
The biggest thread on forum is discussing structure(s) of trance :)

Naeh -its the other way around. You build your track so it fits the time-signature/ structure you have chosen.
Thanks. I will look into this....
