Tips and free VST suggestions for Indietronica & electropop?

Hey there :P I'm pretty new to lmms, but I want to start making music on it. I grew fond of Jamie Paige's work, especially their Anew, Again album since I felt a real emotional connection with it and I'd like to create something similar.

I couldn't find instruments on lmms that would fit for music like it. I'm not even sure which specific genre it falls under.

Do you know a good free Free VST for me to get started?
Any recommendation would be highly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance :P :P :P :P

One VST that you always can find presets for, is Synth1.
It is old, but very good, and there are +10000th of presets for it.
For more specific advices, please link to a specific track -youtube or similar, and link at the specific time! or add a timestamp here
Like @2:32 -> 2:55
Then its much easier to advise good VSTs

sure thing!

This specific track is what got me here in the first place.
I really appreciate your help!
We need to keep Q&A here in forum. That way most can benefit from the posts :)
That track has a lot going on!
The first sounds are reversed instruments. In LMMS you can make that in AFP.
I have made a video where i go through all the features in AFP:

The vocal has autotune That feature is not in LMMS, so you will need a VST to get that 'wobble' in a voice. The instruments are doubled and some are very heavily detuned. In LMMS it is zynAddSubFX That has the best detuning, but detune is almost always possible in VST-instruments.
Does that help you?
You forgot to post a precise timestamp, so if you need more, let us know, but with timestamp :)
Yeah, Synth 1 is really really good. It's like one of the number one, best recommended free vsts out there. :)
