Vangelis - Alpha cover attempt 2

Questions about producing? Ask them here.
Those bends Vangelis does, might be possible with Synth1.

There is however an issue over here. My midi keyboard does not have those wheels and Synth1 seems to want midi input.

Lets first see how far I can come with the 3OS.
In 1982 Vangelis made a short music intro for the news of the greek national tv channel .

They changed it few times to other music but they use it today after 40 years !

Its not the actual old one but a remake with better sound ,

Looking for feedback. What do you guys think ?

I know you are trying to improve your rendition of that track, but wow Gps, that sounds amazing.

This might sound like I'm exaggerating, but the part from 3:08 onward sounds really epic. Strangely enough and my personal opinion, I think you made that whole part sound a bit more epic, than the original tune. Something about how you did it, reminds me of Skaven's style of music in Bejewelled 2.

5:25 to 5:36 That small part sounds epic. I could hear and imagine, a whole original tune based on that part.
Thank you.

This track might be a breakthrough for me. :)

The part were it sounds epic, I never before managed to do this. ( and I know I tried before )

Still working on details, and trying to figure out some, what I suspect to be pitch bends.
Also asked about this on the Linux musicians forum, but they suggested a Synth forum for this.

Also trying to fix a midi controller, that has a pitch bend and modulation wheel.
Hoping to record those with synth1, in LMMS.

In my uploaded track something went wrong though. There is a part which is way to soft, so we cant hear it.
Connect your MIDI controller to LMMS pitch wheel in the instrument VST window, not the VST Synth1 window. Works [s]better[/s] best that way.
Thank you but I also want to use the modulation wheel, if I can get the midi controller working.

I also have been trying pitch bending, with the pitch knob of Vestige. It does work.

I have no idea yet, if this is what Vangelis does.

About the midi controller. When I got it, it was working but the USB B connection was making poor contact.
The USB-B socket on a circuit-board was the problem, not the cable. Replacing the cable did nothing.

My first attempt of soldering an USB cable directly to the circuit board has failed.
Now I bought a socket to solder on to the circuit-board.

Although I like electronics, its not something I am really good at.

Happy thoughts though.
Yeah, soldering things onto a circuit board, takes some practice. Getting a feel of it, is the other tough part. :P
The biggest issue is how small it is:

I do have a magnifying glass though.

Although my midi controller has an USB B port, it has nothing to do with any printer.
I did buy what a shop called an printer cable though, for hooking up my midi controller to my pc.
USB B on one site, and USB A on the other side.
Wow! That circuit board in the vid is small.
