Errors with LMMS Files

So I have had two really promising projects so far that have had the error message "The file seems to contain errors and therefore cannot be loaded". I have literally scoured all of the forums, looked for solutions in Google, but can't understand for the life of me why this keeps happening. Any suggestions for what I can do to recover the file?

That is very unfortunate!
I believe this happens when users with labtops try to save projects when the battery charge is in 'low'ish' levels.
There is an attempted failsafe in lmms, because a message is shown everytime you save a project. I plan to make the fail-message bright-red, but atm the two messages are very similar.
You should always pay attention to the massage in left low corner!

Any suggestions for what I can do to recover the file?

If you have saved in MMP, then there may also by manual options.
That is not the case if you have saved as MMPZ

I am having that same issue. I have been working on a project for a while. I saved the project the night before and today i came to start working on it and it said "the file/(location of the file) seems to contain errors and therefore can't be loaded" I saw some replies saying to find the .mmpz.bak file and delete the .bak part but i see the double extension but it doesn't let me delete the .bak part. I've tried making copies of the project and trying to open it in different ways but nothing worked. i was able to open all my other projects including demos. I've restarted lmms and my laptop but still nothing. My project is saved as .mmpz. I hope there is a way to recover it!

i see the double extension but it doesn't let me delete the .bak part.

As long as you have the file, everything is fine.
*.mmpz.bak -files can be opened just as any mmp or mmpz.
Just doubleclick it, and it will open inside lmms.
Asa you have opened the project this way, use save-as, and save it as a standard mmp or mmpz -It is up to you, what you prefer.

A side-note -If you cant rename your files, it must be because of security settings!
When windows-users try to change file extensions they normally will get a warning -That can just be ignored, and the file should be renamed.

If your file is constantly opening with an error message about opening or playback, you can try to restore the data of the external drive on which you store the program or file. Such errors often occur when the file configuration, format, or virus is incorrect. The virus probably got into your device and is doing its dirty work, you know. Make a recovery. With this, you can restore the cleanliness of your disk and restore the correct format of the files and programs stored on it. I'm sure it can help you. People rarely blame viruses for such problems. They always think that antivirus software protects their computer one hundred percent.
