When I uploaded my first track, people asked if I was tone deaf.

These days I still use the mark current scale tool, but can hear without this, if a note is in tune or not.
To some extent everybody who starts with music is tonedeaf. With not giving up, you can improve this a lot.

LOL, I was already wondering if I was talking to a bot.

There are two types of tone deaf.
One can't be fixed, but people who have this problem, can't listen to music anyway.
Music just sounds like a lot of noise to them.

The other type of tone deaf, is what most people have who start with music.
Our ears need music training.

For me about 8 months, after people told me my music was out of tune, something went pop in my head.
I suddenly started to hear it myself.

I will never forget this video from MusicBear.
He is moving the notes around, and I at first did not hear (understand) why he said no, so many times.
Then suddenly after those 8 months, I started to hear it too.
3min 46 sec in, that part.

As I said, never surrender, never give up.

Whoa! All the best. I'm quite a fan of the swingy style jazz uses.
I might suggest listening to old swing-style songs if you're having trouble with 3/4 swing, though it's so common that it's not likely. (I'd point at a lot of the songs about the game Bendy And The Ink Machine. The fansongs, a lot of the popular ones are in swing. Though not exactly jazzy, they made me more comfortable with 3/4 swing.) I still have some trouble with jazz rhythms, though, but it's swingy enough to not be completely nonsensical. I think I should try out whenever I get time... that's a useful video, thank you.
(Ah, but 5/4 and especially 7/8 are confusing. But let's not worry about those...)

Right now can't even get the rhythm right, but I did triplets once in LMMS, so there is hope.

One of my biggest frustrations for some time now.
Ask me to tap along and I can do it. Ask me how to do this in LMMS, or any other daw) and I draw a blank.

Hm, Henry Mancini sounds familiar. I think I liked this track Lujon. I remember the Pink Panther theme music... we had to vocalize it in a school choir once, christmas medley. Heh... good times. That was an insanely fun one.
I've tried a few unusual time signatures before, but they haven't gone very well. There's 5|4, there's a quick melody idea on 7|8. Rather unpolished, but I tried to keep it simple enough so I'd "get" it.
I've tried 3|4 as a timesignature several times, but never triplets specifically. I don't think I ever saw them as separate enough in my mind to try triplets when I thought of 3|4... though in hindsight I might've misperceived.
