Windows update deleted my LMMS Project files.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
i just got home rn and my computer decided to randomly update as soon as it booted up, and after the update when i opened lmms, the settings menu opened, almost as if LMMS was re-installed. after i got to the program my blank custom template i put on as default was suddently replaced with the actual default lmms template, and when i tried to load a projects the project folder was emptied.

i dont know what to make out of this, and/or if this is a windows thing or an lmms thing (its probably a windows thing), but i do want to find a way to recover my project files back.

(i fixed it, turns out i had a backup of my projects in my other drive.)
I am on Linux, but does this help ?

Fingers crossed.

You might wanna try system restore.

That sounds seriously bad! But i fear i know why
If you as i fear have LMMS-USER folders placed in Program-files/64, then a OS update can make havoc in your own files
If you have any chance to get out of this sad sad situation, you either need to have all your USER-files backed up, then you just have to copy them back
OR
You need to make a successful revert of the OS update
The short explanation for doing that is :

If you've recently installed a Windows update and you are having a problem, here's how to uninstall the update to try to resolve the issue:
Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates . ...
On the list that appears, locate the update you want to remove, and then select Uninstall next to it.

The long and detailed is:

Be careful!
Before doing ANY of these, i would make a COMPLETE safety copy of ALL my own files on a removable HD, then i would start to fiddle with this reverting
And DO remember !
NEVER place own USER-files in the OS-area of program-files!

Besides that, since you are new in Forum
