VSTs not opening

I'm new to lmms. I downloaded two VSTs, extracted them, and placed the dll files into the vst directory file, but when I try to open them using VeSTige nothing happens.

Yes it is a bit confusing, but the folder VST-plugins are not meant to be used for VST-instruments
VST-plugins are meant for VST-effect-plugins
Read the manual for more.
VST-instruments are best placed in the folder that is serialized, and that is the folder Samples.
We recommend that you make one folder in Samples like
Samples| VSTInstruments, and then utilize that folder as host-directory for all VST-instruments either directly, if the VST only consist of one dll-file or in their own separate folder if the VST has art-files or Banks etc.
Then open Vestige-container, and click the green-folder, and browse to Samples| VSTInstruments/.. and select the dll-file for the VST
