Mini freezes everytime I click on a window

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello, I upgraded my linux from Ubuntu 20 to 22 and hence reinstalled LMMS in the new Linux but I have this one problem that is as the title says, and that is, everytime I click on a window or open a new window within LMMS, the program freezes and says that it isn't responding anymore for a few seconds before working again, if may seem not like a big problem but when editing automation tracks for example, it becomes a hassle really fast.

I have already tried to change the audio output from lmms to anything available and hasn't changed the problem. I have tried the normal version from the Software Update Store / sudo apt install and also the alpha version and still have this problem.

I also tried the nightly version which doesn't save the sound of the instruments and plug-ins when loading a project but other than it works well and doesn't have this problem present on lmms 1.2.2.

So this is my issue, thanks for sharing anything that could help me. If more info is needed please tell me.

The version you need to use is the AppImage:

Let us know the outcome :)

Thanks for your answer but.. how silly of me NOT to have mentioned that I used the AppImage for both of these 3 versions + the sudo apt get install. I couldn't use VST plug-ins otherwise with the non AppImage. :/
I am wondering if you should try the kxrepositories.

https://kx.studio/Repositories
About KXStudio

KXStudio is a collection of applications and plugins for audio production.
KXStudio also provides Debian (and Ubuntu) compatible repositories.
In general do not use the official Ubuntu version.
Most distro mess this up, not compiling LMMS with wine support is quite common.

I am on openSUSE, and had to talk tot the LMMS package builder to have a fully working LMMS. (and Carla)
These days I am using something like the KX repostories, but for openSUSE.

For all Debian and Ubuntu users : kx repositories.
I am not familiar with Ubuntu, you might wanna uninstall LMMS, then add the kxrepository and reinstall LMMS.

For open SUSE users: https://geekosdaw.tuxfamily.org/en/

I know other distro also have music creation specific repositories.

These repositories fix in general all LMMS and Carla issues.
