Fastest way to automate

Say I have a simple 4 bar drum pattern. I would like the last snare hit on that 4th bar to echo. Or anything along those lines, just a hypothetical. Is there a faster way to do this, because as of now Im just automating a bypass every time.

Yes, you can make selected effects

Here i do it for a soundclip, but it is of cause also possible for a note
