i recently got a new midi keyboard but the problem is that LMMS is really inconsistent and sometimes it detects it and sometimes it straight up refuses to have it show up in the settings no matter what i try to do (For example: unplug and plug in, restart LMMS, restart PC), i know when it works is when it explicibly shows the name of the device in the settings but when it doesn't for reasons to me completely unknown it just doesn't. it works just fine when i try it in other software like FL studio so as far as i know it's LMMS exclusive issue
That is difficult to say why. Of cause you need to make sure that you have updated drivers. What i then would do if i had a similar issue was to first do a total shut-down (SH+shut-down and then proper cold-boot the pc, plug KB in and pit in ON. Then start PC and immediately start LMMS. If the KB is detected you would then have an indication for a conflict with 'something' that you use randomly and that can lead to a KB-detection issue.Tohchal wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 7:30 pmi recently got a new midi keyboard but the problem is that LMMS is really inconsistent and sometimes it detects it and sometimes it straight up refuses to have it show up in the settings no matter what i try to do (For example: unplug and plug in, restart LMMS, restart PC), i know when it works is when it explicibly shows the name of the device in the settings but when it doesn't for reasons to me completely unknown it just doesn't. it works just fine when i try it in other software like FL studio so as far as i know it's LMMS exclusive issue
Unfortunately you need to do this 'several' times before you can exclude that there could be a real connection issue with LMMS. In that case you need to inform us about version installed.
