Unable to Play Projects from Sharing Platform

Hi there!

I downloaded some projects from the Sharing Platform and I'm getting errors when I open them. Several "The plugin "midicontrollers" wasn't found or could not be loaded! Reason: "plugin not found."" errors, a "The plugin "vsteffect" wasn't found or could not be loaded! Reason: "Plugin not found"" error, and a list of samples that were not found (even though they exist), and unknown LADSPA plugin errors. Essentially these errors prevent any of the beat/bassline tracks from playing - they're all greyed out.

I'm running a Linux system (Pop!_OS) that runs LMMS pretty well. I searched for these missing plugins and I can't find anything definitive. I checked this forum and Reddit for others having this issue but wasn't able to find mention of it.

Are there plugins i need to get and just missed them? Do I need to reconfigure my settings in some way?

This is what happens when you have LMMS 1.2 and try to open a project made in 1.3 alpha. You can ignore the midicontroller stuff. But as you said samples will have the wrong filename.

The AppImage works fine. Don't be scared because the call it alpha. It's really stable, probably more than 1.2. It's just that the devs are afraid to say it's finished, they keep on working on more features instead.

NiftySardine » is correct, in as much as the projects you have tried to open is made with 1.3, and 1.22 cant open 1.3 projects! (1.3 opens ALL projects! That outstanding backward compatibility is unique for LMMS!).
So upgrade..?
