piano roll notes shifting/not syncing with vst

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.

Hi, I just started using LMMS today so I apologize if these are common issues.

I'm trying to use a set of VST drums on my recording, but the piano roll presets don't match the preset on the VST. For example, a sound found on F#0 on the VST preset is on the piano roll at, say, G#1.
Another problem I've had is whenever I close the song editor and open it again, the sounds have switched places.

Once again, I'm sorry if these are common issues. I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

NO! Those are indeed NOT common!
That is simply nuts!
The F#0 to G#1 could because you have moved the base-note
https://docs.lmms.io/user-manual/3-navi ... -base-note
But i suspect that something else is wrong.. So please post your:

  • Name of your Operative System (Windows/ Linux/ Mac) And subtype (Home' 'Mint' '10.13' aso)
  • lmms version, and the site where you got it from

I'm using Windows 8.1 (yes my laptop is shit, yes i'm looking to buy a new one, bear with me) and I'm using the stable 1.2.2 version for Windows. https://lmms.io/download#windows

ok, i found a solution-- i downloaded the alpha version instead of the stable one and it works fine now

Very good, but a bit strange if using Windows 8.1 with 1.22 fails so catastrophically, i would not expect 1.3 to better, but it must be qT that works better.. That is strange..
