How do YOU compose your music?

I've also recently noticed that most of my songs tend to follow a pattern. It's something like:

Intro, part1, variation on part1, lull/low-energy part, build-up, high-energy part2, variation on part2, which then builds up to a finish.

Are there verse-chorus pairs inside those parts?

I think your structure is very good. Actually, that low-energy part adds punch to what comes next; I think it might be something I need to learn. My songs tend to be too level, too bland.

No, I don't do verse-chorus. Verse-chorus doesn't really make sense for the type of music I make.

I'd like to make those, but they're even more difficult than dance music. All those developing ambient progressions...

Not really. Mostly I make things like experimental electro, acid/goa/chiptune mashups, freeform psytrance and edm with glitchy sounds thrown in the mix every now and then.

I guess there isn't really a good concise way of describing what kind of music I like to make, huh.

I like it too, you can tell you have experience making music with this software. What i like about LMMS is the endless possibilities you can make a piece from each and every music genre. It's a wonderful software, respects to the creators for doing a good job. The hours just fly by when one is hard at work

Also, I feel that some ideas can be used even if one is not interested in this particular genre. However, it's refreshing to see something else than dance music tutorials. There is *nothing* wrong with dance music, but there is too much repetition in the tutorials (hard to find anything new and inspiring).
