Crashing on startup

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Make sure you install LMMS in the default directory offered by the installer
All settings are default, including installing directory C:\Program Files\LMMS
ok.. i have looked more at this, and there are some 'reasons' that we have to look at:

Remove the Lmms folder in Program Files (C:\Program Files\LMMS.... )
manually (if necessary).

Do you use any unicode charachters in any of your paths on your pc
Unicode chars are not supported, only ascii-chars are, and unicode has given several other peeps problems -However , afaik - not crashes, but lost Settings and unable to load instruments.

Another thing i have to ask you -Is your xp an original-purches, or ..
Some has had problem with a missing dll
avrt.dll, otherwise located at the windows\system32-folder
Do you have that? ..Pira..d xps have strangely been missing this file |?

If you do not have it.. for what ever reason.., you should try a repair /recover
An orr. xp disk is needed for this.

You should also read
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerr ... -error.htm
About recovery of faulty xp installations.

Lets see if any of this helps, before last option is tried..

It is hardly. However, I ran FAR file manager and searched "Program files" and "LMMS" strings in DOS codepage. All are found.

I checked DLLs used by LMMS with Process Explorer on machine where LMMS runs fine. This DLL is not listed in DLLs used by LMMS process.
Furthemore, this DLL is not available in System32 folder or any other folder on machine with 100% legal Windows XP where LMMS runs fine.
..hm :/
well one shot left, i think -And thats not even a good one, but
Here
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmms/files/lmms/
Are lmms versions from previous
Remove everything!
DL 0.15 32 bit
If it runs, well, then you can start up with a quite good version of lmms, and then see how things are, when 1.1 is released.
I know this is a crappy 'solution' -

If it does not run - then something really strange lives on you system..
I gues you already have cheked for HW conflicts, and that sound in general works perfect
Have you done a dxdiag?
