Capacity of computer not to crash LMMS

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
we know that skype icq and other direct audio demanding programs of same kind, has negative influence on anything that uses the soundcard, incl. lmms.
Are you online, when you use lmms?
I am, but have all sound using resources shut down
Try running off-line

btw directx test should test your video and graphic separately, and you should interact with the test. -I believe it asks for user response 3 or 4 times -Did it?
If not, redo.
And if it all comes down to that aria thing -why worry. what is it that specific vst can, thats so important to you? Perhaps some us know something just as good
Explain the need for aria :)
The Aria engine is a very good .sfz player used in a number of other soundfont players. I use the free simple Aria-based sforzando VST and that works well for me...but that's on Windows 7 and 8.1 but I've never tried the Garritan Aria Player which I guess is what the OP means.

Steve
Yes, musicbear, I am almost always online when the computer is turned on. I will try offline while running LMMS with the plugin. Perhaps and hopefully the solution is as simple as that. I don't use skype at all, but do use voip. I am not sure if the phone uses the same space when it's just in standby without dialing out or in.

I like Garritan Aria Player, because the instruments sound closer to the real instruments with the legato feature within my budget. Of course, there are others I like more and sound even closer to the real instruments yet with a pricey tag. All the orchestral instruments I want to incorporate in music are there in Aria Player.
HAH! Now I get it! open the task manager and tell me how many processes you see? (It appears to me that only bloat can make this guy suffer)
Tell us how much RAM and CPU usage does your computer have, load and idle. When I was using XP years back, I lived with only 256MB and 12 PROCESSES. Now living on 4GB and Win8.1 I can disable as much as all but 25~29 processes.

1.)Open the task manager and see how many running processes are there: Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Processes:59
CPU Usage: (jump from 4% to 6% to 51%...... like crazy)
Physical Memory:56%
WAOW. arrange all processes by User and kill unnecessary ones EXCEPT, synaptics or your touchpad if you have one, audio and antivirus.
Also remove all startup items except sound and antivirus
Yep.... too many things running..OK... I learned now: whenever I am using a music program, I need to do what you suggested. GREAT helps. You guys rock :-D
Prioritize some things on your PC
RAM is always #1. Why? RAM is the lungs of your PC. If you have small lungs and you are gonna play a tuba, for instance, imagine how difficult it might be. Pick some instrument your own lung size and play away. The bigger the lungs, the more breath you have to make more powerful actions. lojk.
8GB RAM is currently considered more than enough for any consumer task on a typical PC, and make sure you run it on dual-channel mode for a significant boost (unless you're like me who has a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series model 3542 with only 1 DIMM slot and a max capacity of 8GB :< )
Lack of oxygen can prove fatal, so is Out Of Memory kernel panic on a PC.

Next, well your CPU is either the heart or brain/head of your PC. Well, if you have an i3 or an A8, you're good to go if you're not into heavy stuff like virtualization, and video editing and rendering. Keep in mind that (YEAH YOU'VE HEARD THIS ONE A LOT) more cores will give you a little bit more speed. Less running processes, faster speed too btw!

Download a tool called Process Explorer and find out what's using most of your resources; If you think it shouldn't be running, don't think twice and kill it, or if you think it is suspicious, go ahead and google it before you decide what to do. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sys ... 96653.aspx

Keep in mind, disable unecessary startup items, disable unecessary services http://www.blackviper.com/ and kill all unecessary services. Buy moar RAM!!!
so helpful, MrFriendSon. Thank you
Don't hesitate to ask for help anytime to anyone =U
