Are you a syntheholic ?

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Thank you for those vids. Very interesting. I had heard of tonto before, but that was kinda before I really got hooked on synthesizers.

And the mother of all synths. Behold, the RCA synthesizer!

Have you seen the movie Forbidden Planet?
I has a very interesting all electronic soundtrack.
An absolute classic! :D

So, that's all I've got from the more obscure early days of synths.
@Gps Have you played around with a real modular synth?
Omg about that third vid. What kind of drugs were they on when they composed that ?
I don't even know where to begin with modular synthesis. After watching the synth documentary 'I Dream of Wires' (feature deadmaus5, that guy from depeche mode, trent reznor, others..) there is a cavernous hole in my soul. oh to get those sounds

Vince Clarke!

It's fun and also much more enlightening on how synths work. After spending a weekend with a modular you'll know, more or less, how to use any synthesizer.
Unfortunately the Alsa Modular Synth isn't very easy to work with. It has all functionality hidden in tabs which is totally not the modular way.

One of my favourite modular clips demoing a DIY clone of a sequencer module:

Some of those vids realy helped me to understand the triple ossilator and synth 1.

At first I only saw a mess of knobs with out any clue on how to use them.

Enjoy the silence, love that synth sound.
Yes, Triple Oscillator is the one I use the most.
I haven't gotten into Monstro yet...

Monstro is my new favourite softsynth. I had no idea hard sync could be so effective (and monstrous) until I used the monstro-matrix to experiment with different LFO's and envelopes on the pitch of OSC2 and OSC3 (sync'd).
I'm a ZynAddSubFX addict.

I make all my sounds with it. LMMS + ZynAddSubFX is the power duo!

And I'm proud of it ;)
That proofs to me I should rtfm, for Zynaffsubfx.

And try harder to figure it out.
