Now you have two new synth sounds to add to your collection.

I must admit, that LmmsDude, is a real genius to make tuts like that.
It's because of those two tuts, I was able to understand, how to make cool synth sounds using Triple Oscillator.
And even when I did understand, how to make lots of cool synth sounds, Owallgren, orpheon7, musikbear, pauljs, lazerblade, even djkingpin Chad and a few others helped me, when I didn't understand, how to make a pluck sound and other sounds etc.
I could never forget them, for all of their help.
But the problem was, I was overlooking the pluck sound. lol!

I have another question: When you start creating a song, how do you find a good melody?
The same question I asked Steve is for you too!

This is really a hard question to answer Armin.
I would ask myself, how do you or how does one, find the idea to make a good melody?

As I told a dj during the August vacation.
I would say there are so many ways.
And it all depends on the individual and his imagination.
Imagination and creativity comes in very handy, when creating melodies.
Sometimes it might go waaaay overboard and beyond.

Sometimes in some rare cases, I would hear a synth sound melody in a track I like and all of a sudden, a few new melodies appear in my head, using that same synth sound or a variation of it.

Sometimes, in some rare cases, it could be the ethereal ambient pads playing in the background, and a good portion of a brand new never heard before musictrack, appears.

Sometimes it's the melody of someone elses track, and your mind immediately creates a new melody and tries to figure out how the Bass synth, or the other sounds should sound etc.
The hard part is trying to replicate those sounds, that you hear in your mind. Lol!
But it's worth the effort.

Sometimes, it's the Bass synth that could help you create an entire soundtrack, and sometimes, that Bass sound melody,
could help influence you, to figure out, or create the melody to go with it.
Then when you least expect it, you have an entire new soundtrack.

Joke aside -listen to a lot of the music YOU like, and get inspired

As musikbear said, listen to some music and get inspired.
That really works, trust us.

There are so many ways to come up with a good melody, I have lost count.

Only two ways I know of finding good melodies.
1.Steal them from existing songs.

If i knew a formula, i would not be sitting here in an absurd cold windy freezer named Denmark, i would be driving my 'Farrari-testestorone' in LA or Monaco

And drive at 2500 mph.

Hey I was around when most hip-hop and many R&B songs were made almost entirely of samples "stolen" from earlier pop songs. So by now it's not cheating, it's a tradition .

And starting from something first produced by someone else is what EVERYONE does....whether they admit it to themselves or not. It's where you get to from there that's important .

Yes, I listen most electronic but a bit classical too. I made in Spotify an inspiration Playlist where I put different songs from different genres in. I hope it will help me!

One more idea for the melody:
Find a preset you really like
Then go into note-capture-mode

Eg, 3. from left
Set Q to 1/64, so even the shortest notes, will be placed at the played positions
Now just -play-
Improvise and listen!
Sometime only three notes can be epic, like in guru josh eternity or Toto Africa
But someone like OuterMind or others that really can write good melodies need to chime in. I'm definitively not that guy

I dont have a keyboard but i can play with my computer keyboard.
But it is always delayed.

He has over 50 you tube vids, of were the hip hop sample come from.

One track in my playlist is because of Heavy D.

How I find a melody:
One method is plugging in my midi keyboard, and jam.
I then usual end up with deleting a lot, and keeping the good parts.

Or I get inspired by a midi file. How does something I like, look in LMMS.
So I downloaded Haddaway - What is love ? midi, and I had a look.
I so love those synths in that track. Too bad there is a guy singing.

I know all about not having much money to spend, but a simple midi controller does not have to be expensive.
This one works fine with lmms, 44 euros.

I also watch a lot of you tube vids, were people create hits in any daw for inspiration.
Its in one of those vids were I found inspiration for my track our house music.
