There is alot that can be said here.
But using some of Lmms' built in effects like:
Calf Reverb

Tap Chorus flanger

The Equalizer plugins

Calf Vintage Delay

and Echo plugins etc
can help and sometimes make, synth sounds, sound much more powerful and way more cooler.

I just listened to both.
While I was comparing them, I noticed, that your newer official track, is actually shorter, than the original version.
