Oh, okay. Or we could use soundcloud, and just send links to the person in charge of this.

Sharing the project file is encouraged, as you can showcase your ways of using the DAW. You can use the LSP, or upload your file to Dropbox or a similar service. When the challenge starts I will also upload to the LSP a blank project with the 10 chosen samples imported. This will save you from having to dig through the samples directories.DJ FlyingPankakez wrote:Oh, okay. Or we could use soundcloud, and just send links to the person in charge of this.

You got my support, I'll be happy to repost any of the tracks created with the samples to the Artist Hub and also contribute any samples you'd like to see there.caLRo wrote:The idea is to hold a periodic challenge in which each participant creates a project.
The central rule is that the project must utilise a certain set of stock LMMS samples. That set will change for each next challenge. Other samples are allowed, but the more creative you are with that set of samples, the better. Instruments and such are also allowed, but for sake of convenience it's best to stick to stock LMMS samples and native plugins.
This will not be a contest. Everyone has their own expression of music and creativity. Participating is more important than winning.
Thanks Jacoby! I think the Artist Hub is a great idea. It's not the same as the old SoundCloud group, but it could help reuniting the LMMS community that we previously had on SoundCloud.davisjacobym wrote:You got my support, I'll be happy to repost any of the tracks created with the samples to the Artist Hub and also contribute any samples you'd like to see there.caLRo wrote:The idea is to hold a periodic challenge in which each participant creates a project.

If I remember correctly the group had around 3000 members, and there were a few smaller groups as well. I don't know how often people went to these groups, but I was defintely checking them regularly.DJ FlyingPankakez wrote: Was the community bigger? sorry, i started to post and be active after the group thing was gotten rid of, so i don't know what it was like before.
