I didn't have too much time to listen to your songs, but the one I heard sounded more than anything like something that would be somewhere in the depths of Aperture in Portal 2. Pretty cool nonetheless. Just a tip though, I'd suggest reposting music to soundcloud or youtube. Most LMMS users tend to prefer going to either of those places to listen to music.
soundcloud is lame and conformistic piece of javascript junk. I personally hate that place as much as I hate all the people who fall in love with an orange play button rather than using their brain. Nobody gets famous or successful with soundcloud anyway, see how many people offer their " real soundcloud listens and subscribers", that place is full of scammers and fake talent-scouts. People can keep dreaming, if they want...

Youtube is for videos, not music.

I don't get people. You get 70 free music mp3 yet they prefer to follow "the vibe".
And I don't understand people claiming DNS errors where there are none. CHANGE ANTIVIRUS, MY SITE IS SAFE.

You have an interesting approach to life, refusing to use the sites where most people look for music because "nobody gets famous or successful". Instead you put your music on your own obscure site with no information about anything just black screens with a player strip and then you attack anyone who has trouble getting to it.

Not sure that's going to make you very famous either. Which is a shame because some of the tunes (I've only tried about 10 so far) have promise. If I wanted to be "experimental and alternative" I think I'd perhaps try to make them a bit more rhythmically interesting but there are some good sounds in there. I'm sure some of the more extreme dissonances will get to some people but I find it interesting, if a bit overused.

Why are they all so short ? A couple of minutes doesn't give you much time to develop anything, just one or maybe two ideas then stop.

Are they really all made with LMMS ? Which instruments do you use mainly ?

Steve
BTW error 404 on MoodHacker1.mp3
thanks for your comment slipstick, at least somebody speaking his mind, I like that.

you're from the UK, homeland of punk music, I'm asking you the same question? why punk songs are so short?

LMMS, for sure, if you doubt about it... well keep doubting about it. I'm not going to force you to believe, not even if I post a screenshot of the mppz projects. there is some editing in Cool Edit Pro2, if you really want to know

my site is obscure? well it is, and I like it. Orange doesn't fit me. Also: what kind of info should I add? Are you talking about aesthetics or contents, they're two different things you know. Soundcloud is a pro site, ok, but it's full of junk. My site is just a personal portfolio with audio samples and other stuff, I don't think it needs further info.

rythmic variation... well, that could be a tech tip I can consider for the next track, as the way I use the word "experimental" I mean that I've never tried making the kind of tracks before making it , so the "first shot" is what you hear on each track.

I don't attack people, I just want straightforward confront. You're probably too used to diplomatic conversations and user-friendly stuff. Anyone has its own opinions, you like soundcloud, I don't.

http://emanuelepepi.altervista.org/mp3/MoodHacker1.mp3 fixed, thanks (and it's more than 4 minutes... lol lenght... is it what makes a song good?)

about lenght: my site also hosts a 1 HOUR Ambient song... but you probably missed it ;)
Punk songs were short because the punkies had short attention spans and ran out of ideas really quickly (and I know this cus I was there :)).

Not disbelieving LMMS just impressed by the variety of sounds...which is why I asked what instruments you used in LMMS.

I'll try to listen to some more of your tracks. I like (and make) music that doesn't feel compelled to fit into any of the standard genres, which is one reason why hardly any of mine is published at all.

As for information I'm an old reader of LP sleeves. I feel better with some comments about the thoughts and efforts went into making a piece...but if you don't see any value in that sort of thing don't worry about it. It's your music and you can present it however you like. You're not alone, one of my current favourites is still Aphex Twin and there's never anything other than a track name with his music.

Steve
eh, master Aphex is unbeatable, I certainly don't try making the experiments he did in rythms and sounds since he is, you know, a master. But, of course, I try to experiment with anything I see even if I have no clue or knowledge about it. I have my basic knowledge about music, but anything else is "by ear" or don't know what's the english word for it.

well I have short attention span too. I can't focus on something for a long time, it's away from my nature.

about description to each track.... mmm good idea. I can focus on it and re-work on that page to make it more descriptive.

i mean, the list goes on.
As I said before, good for you, but not for me.
Meanwhile I've listened to a few more and found 3 or 4 that I really enjoy. But I don't think I'll tell you which they are in case that encourages you to do more of the same instead of carrying on experimenting. Just keep doing what you're doing, it's interesting.
