Operating System: Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor 32-Bit, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 3328MB RAM

use PCI Audio SDL. Works all mostly nice, untill I use VST in automaton, in a worktrack with some different lines.
CPU indication goes high and the sound goes cracking.
Would like to know, if it is a performance problem?

I use only one plug in, to try out. I only use just to try out is synth 1 now.
I also do it, with the single use and export as wave, lol.
But I just like to know, if it'S posibly a performance problem, at all to use VST plugins?
Would be nice to know. Thanks!

Else, in settings, there is a button for 'sync VST plugins to host playback'
I can't find some point for that in the manual, sorry, what is that about?

add: I use LMMS 0.4.15 and synth 1 V112 :)

Wow! Thanks for posting your specs.

Yeah. Synth 1 seems to be the safest Vst to use with Lmms. They work hand in hand with each other.
Especially with Lmms 0.4.13. It seldom crashes Lmms 0.4.13.
But I just like to know, if it'S posibly a performance problem, at all to use VST plugins?
1) Some Vst's use up "alot" of CPU and memory power, causing DAW's such as FL Studio and Lmms to crash.
The problem not only occurs with Lmms, but with other DAW's such as FL Studio and others also.
FL Studio has a tendency, to crash with alot of the paid Vst's as well.

2) Some Vst's have bugs in them which causes performance issues and problems.

3) In other cases, it could be the coding for the Vst, not being recognised by the DAW's coding language etc.

4) Some times performance issues occur, if you have a PC etc. with low CPU or RAM power.
But the Specs for your PC seem to be fine.

There are many other reasons as well.

Note: If you want to know which Vst's (DSK Vst's) work well with Lmms "performance wise,"
you can check here...........https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/lmms ... ?f=4&t=775

It's in the Generals section of the Forum, entitled:DSK VSTs That work in Lmms 0.4.13 Enjoy! By Brandy Starbrite
It even has a rating system as well.
And it's in Alphabetical order for ease of reading. :D
It even has info, on which Vst's should be used with Lmms, and which ones to literally avoid.

This list was made mainly for Lmms 0.4.13 users, using DSK VSt's only.

Or you can check the Lmms Vst Wiki. Which deals with quite alot of other Vst brands, that work with Lmms.
