Progress :)
I think I found a Climax. At the end another synth helps playing the melody.

The track now also has a kind of breakdown.

I changed the answers, They caused twitching on my side, especially when that second synth plays along.
Checked over 10 times if the notes were all in tune, and they are, still it made me twitch.

Its now 10 minutes :O and I have to add that this is not because of just copy paste from left to right.

I think I need to add one more sound. Some kind swoop or effect every 12 or 16 bars or so.

I don't know much about any of this, but comparing the youtube and your thing, you need more bass.

Nice tut.
I noticed, that he made some of his melodies the way I do. He! He! :)
The pad sound was cool too, especially when he put it all together. 8-)

I still learn a lot form vids like that.

They don't use lmms, but if you understand what they are doing that does not matter.

And here we go :P

In some aspects definitely my best track ever. Could not come up with a name, but then combined my love for music with the love for mechanics in racing.

Sequential (gearbox) :P

https://soundcloud.com/user586365033/sequential

First time for me the track feels finished. ( never before had that when asking for feedback on any of my tracks)

But as always feedback much appreciated.
Not sure I am 100% happy with the sound of the melody synth, but I am for 98%.

I think I have finally seen the light on basslines.

Off topic a sequential gearbox is like a gearbox on a motor cycle. You shift gears by tapping a pedal or lever, instead of the common H pattern.
There are more differences but for a music forum, the description motorcycle gearbox is good enough.

At 1 min see how he changes gear, not an H pattern like in most cars

I could understand, why you're happy with it.
This sounds really nice Gps.
And the melody sounds louder and blends in well with the drums and track too.
Good job/improvement there, in comparison to your last attempts. :)

I like how the track changes at 5:17 secs.
I noticed that you added, in alot of new stuff in this track.
The fade out at the end of the track was done nicely too.

I will be honest, a few more good stuff could be added to this track. But it sounds good so far.
A mighty big improvement here. 8-)

Hmm....I think I understand why.
Play the melody by itself and tweak the knobs of the synth you're using, until it sounds right for you. 8-)

If you're using Synth 1 for the melody, I would suggest turning Synth ones Vintage delay d/w dial to the right,
a tiny bit past 40.
I have noticed, that alot of synth sounds, sound really good, when I do that. 8-)

Like your 2 big transitions, they works. What i would do now, is to complete put the track away for at least a week, and then play it again, with transport stop-at-position.
At the moment you hear something that not satisfy you, stop and make a note of what your thoughts were, at exactly that point. Add a timestamp, and continue.
That is a good way to do a 'sleeper-track' over.

I know you want honest critique, so imo: If it has a length of 10+ mins, it would need at least one more breakdown, but without making it even longer.
I struggle with exactly the same -length v. variation, in my latest try, and its a drag :/
Guess i changed line 8+ times :|

:{ you wont believe what i try to make now as the trance sleeps... Hard-Metal-ROCK !! :D

Thank you guys.

I was never a big fan of the triple Oscillator, the sound is often not what I want. This time its close, but I hope I make sense, when I say it sounds more 8 bit then I like, and I have no idea on how to solve that.

Already tried lowering the melody by one octave, but that kills the bell ? like sound part, which I do like.

I am quite happy though about the part around 5 min and on. I love this meep meep meep meep following the the start of the loop.
It makes it hard for me to listen to it and sit still.

@ Brandy
That is something I can try, fiddle more with the knobs. If you say add more, can you be a tad more specific about what you're thinking about ?

@ Musicbear.
LOL at second breakdown. We are totally on the same page, the reason why there is no second breakdown, because it is already 10 + min.
Back to the drawing-board on a second breakdown, without making the track longer.
I have already been cutting down on the intro and breakdown. ( it was about a minute longer as it is now)

Hard-Metal- Rock :O
I still want to do Deep Purle - Child in time, in lmms, but the first time I got this idea, I realized I needed to learn much more before I can do a serious attempt at that track. That track is everything but simple. The lyrics and then the shouting part is worrying me most.
How the hell to replace that with a synth?
