While I'm at it, I'll take this opportunity to ask you whether or not it's possible to silence the note I'm moving in the piano roll while the pattern is playing... and if I can play the song while I'm inside the piano roll

Finally! It got fixed!. I was afraid there was something wrong in LMMS, but now it works. Great!

No, moving a note will play it, it is normally a good thing, because you will be able to hear it in different placings and that way better use it in your composition, but mute it, we cant.

Ok, we cannot mute... well... if you have time could you try this effect I found and that looks perfect for my purpose

When a plugin load, but do not show any UI, it is because the UI is embedded in wrong way.
In Settings switch the Embedding-setting. Shot lmms down and retry.
You properly need "No Embedding", but try each of them

here I see 3 option, "no embedding", "embed using Qt API" and "embed using native Win32 API"... I've been tryed all of 3 but that FX still don't show his own controls

Look in tray. If the plugin is not-embedded, then i will have its own separate window, and that can be down in tray, and then you need to pop-it-up from tray manually.
If its complete nogo, use the wrench-icon and bring up LMMS UI for the plugin, but that was only a hack we used long ago -Still works though..

the wrench-icon is placed in the window of the controls of the effect (to use LMMS to set the controls), but is the button "controls" that is not present when I charge some effects... for some external FX there is the button "control" when I put them in the chain, for some other no and even if the effect is in the chain the sond it doesn't change when I activate it or disactivated, is the same

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!
The download page for the effect I linked says it's 64-bit while I use LMMS 1.3 alpha 32-bit on Win. So I just uninstalled the 32 and installed the 64 and now I can finally use it (^_^)
