Latest version, looking forward to feedback. ( the second breakdown is not finished yet, it clearly needs more work, but you can hear the Glame lowpass filter. ( for now on three synths )

Biggest change, swapped the Tipple Ossilator bell, to a Synth1 bell sound.
Minor change on intro and first breakdown.
Work in progress, second breakdown.

This sounds very good. :D
I listened to the whole thing again.
I was trying to post some small advices, on certain parts of the track on soundcloud.
But for some strange reason, I can't log in. :P

But I definitely like what I hear so far.
I like the breakdown parts too.
Whatever you did and added in to this track, you made this long track, sound waaaaay more interesting. 8-)
Very nice. good work. :D

You can see i marked 2 parts
1:52 good! change, but the 2:06 what do YOU think about that

Same for 3:02 Good! What about 3:13 ?

Your new break works fine, but its short

Maby -just maby, you should look at the track as your trance learning experience, and reuse the good main melody in a new track, where you work with the structure-model i believe slipstick gave us, eg The-wall structure

Delete my sC comments if you like :)

@Brandy thank you

I did not change that much but from the first time I had my melody, I was very happy with it but also had this nagging feeling, k this sounds good but is it a good trance sound? (dreamy sound)

Then tried synth 1, mostly because it has great sounds for trance.

Thank you

Its funny you mention that structure model.

The more I listen to trance the more I get convinced my melody changes too much and too often.
Trance is much more about repeating, and adding stuff to hide you're listening to a loop :P
My current track violates some of those rules.

My build up has a variation in it, which I do not hear in any other trance tracks. ( using more notes )

The track at the end does sound like trance.

The part starting around 5 min, I really like. Specially this beep beep beep beep beep following the start of the loop.

About the time stamps, I think I am confused. Do you mean the bell sound gets a tad too loud ? ( i have it fade in a bit )
1.52 and 2.06 Or do you mean the melody going up in tone height ?
Or that there should be another variation ? or none of the above ? :P

The new break is rather short indeed. :)

I knew there was something I forgot to mention.

I found some calf stereo plugin.

A lot of knobs but also also two named phase right and phase left.
I like this stereo effect better then the stereo enhancer.

Yes, in the start you have a super wibe going, and then you almost emediately changes it. It could be much longer before that change

No, its more like the 'wibe' in the change.. it is dead subtle, but if you listen to the change at timestamp good, and then listen to the other -What is your feeling
It all comes down to the chord succession scheme, but maybe i should make a tutorial around succession 'rules'

A tutorial on that would be great.

I have found, what you mean 3.02 and 3.13.

I have a chord progression. I am not sure, if I hear what you mean, but from almost day one, I do have a nagging feeling that my chord progression is not right from a trance perspective.

I can hear I am doing something different, but have not figured out what exactly. Maybe I just need to repeat each part longer.
I then will have to kill some variations in my track, but I can live with that, because I want to make trance.

I do remember a line from one of the many trance tutorials. It said something like, change key ones in a while.
I am changing key much more then that. lol

Edit:
My "blocks" are now 8 long ( the number 8 in the piano roll)
I could try 16. For trance 16 is also good.
Then keep each part in the song editor, same length so I will end up with less key changes.

Then prob go up as small step as possible tone wise.

What I like to add,

What I do hear is that my chord progression in some places seems to kill the trance.

That's some interesting advice you got from that trance tut. :D
Because changing the keys, once in a while, makes the music sound less repetitive.

Also, how is your Trance track going along? Anymore progress? :geek:
