Changed again quite a bit. I am totally not happy about the fog horn sound.
I think I will search for something else that does fit in.

Tried to be less original melody wise, and ones again changed the first track.
Some parts are at least for my taste beautiful. I am having a hard time sitting still while listening to it.
It seems to have a vibe.
Added a track because I felt something was missing. That worked out much better then expected.
Suddenly the start and the break do fit the song and have a build up, toward the real start.
Funny how one track can do this,

I might have to do a Rosberg after this. ( stop on you're peak)

Sequential version 3.
sub title, Flight of the Duck :P

Feedback as always very welcome,
At 4 min, it even starts to sounds as Trance :o ( or is it just me ? )

Wondering about the duck sound, does this really fit trance or is it more house like.
I like it though.

More faint when its first introduced and then louder.

P.s Did I make an awesome dance track or should I smoke less weed ? :P
P,s 2 if I get that damn sound fixed.

Edit: I almost forgot, I also changed the chord progression, to something more simple.
Okay. :geek:
Nice bass sound.
I like the bright piano melody, that plays throughout most of the track. But I noticed that at certain parts of the track,
eg. 2:22 secs to 2:58 secs it seems a bit drowned out, by the bass sound.
-----
After 4:00 secs, I like how the piano melody, gets louder and sounds really Amazing!
And starts to sound more like uplifting trance music. :D

But again, in some places in the track, eg. 4:05 secs to 4:30 secs, the bass slightly overpowers it.
A small volume reduction on the Bass, (not a big volume reduction), or, raising the volume of the piano melody
would solve that problem in no time.
----
It was a smart idea, to have that duck sound, play at a lower volume.

Personally, I think that a duck sound, like the fog horn, is an unusual choice for a trance track.
But then again, I'm not saying that it can't work. :geek:
Because in two trance tracks I listened to, they used a Jungley monkey Oh Oh Oh sound, playing in them.

But believe it or not, a similar quacky sound, was used in some old school 90's music tracks.
This classic track, sang by Danish singer Sannie Carlson, has a quacky ducky sounding sound too.
You can hear it at the start of the track onward, played at a very low volume.

I will admit, so far, this Sequential 3 wip, is quite impressive Gps. You're getting closer to your goal. 8-)

That is often called acid-bass, and is the center and focuspoint of a whole subgenre of trance Acid-trance!

I marked a spot at 4:00. I would try a breakdown right there over ~10-12 bars, and then add an exiting buildup with lots of snare-roll and all the trimmings to explode into your new good part, and then trim everything back to ~7 mins
..but just imo
Thank you guys.

@Brandy, I might have to turn down the equalizer a tad on the low end, for that bass.

Its a bit (too) much on my headset.

About the drowning you're right.

The better my ears become the more I get annoyed with sound cloud. It kills some of the dynamics.
And that part sounds a bit better at my pc then it does on sounds cloud. :(

@Musicbear, yes its prob a bit too long.

A breakdown at 4 min sounds good, wont be easy to make it shorter, but I find a way. :)
I think I can make the intro a bit shorter for sure and maybe just delete a part like I did to bring it down from 11 to 9 min.

@both, So i was right, that duck sound is not a real trance sound.
Funny when somebody says acid, I instantly hear this track in my mind.
Aciiiiiiid Aciiiiiiid

Funny I never noticed that duck sound in the track of Sannie Carlson.
Prob because I don't like it much, it was a big hit over here though.

After uploading, and posting here, I suddenly noticed that the lowpass filter I use, at 6 min or so, is hardly audible prob because I changed so much.
Should be easy fix, just need to add that lowpass filter on more or other instruments.

I will also go hunt for a sound to replace that "fog horn" we all agree it sucks at the moment. :)
Took away a bit from the start and first break, just to make the intro shorter.

Made the duck sound less loud, its now more of a background sound, I was after all attempting to make trance.
Inserted easy Q vst, and was rather shocked to what this did to the sound.
I already had used allot of EQ, also on the master channel, but still this was again a big step forward although I had to lower the low end on the eq I already had on the master channel.

Been paying allot of attention to the bass, and have been messing with it.
I think I fixed it. ( too much eq boost was prob the main problem )

Fixed the lowpass filter problem, and did more work on the automation volumes.

Foghorn is gone, and I am already not missing it, found a nice sound in a synth1 bank to replace it. ( YAKA zip )
I am very happy with what I have now.

Added a tom to make the percussion less boring, and added a phaser to the hi hats, to make them less boring too. ( fiddled with dry / wet level of he phaser ) The intro is a lot shorter, and because I deleted the duck sound until the end, It was also easy to make the track shorter.
Its now a tad over 7 min. :) For my personal taste its too short, but I have noticed that I have that problem with most tracks I love, so its prob exactly at the right length now. :P ( makes you wanna come back for more )

The duck sound is now only a the start and the end of the track. Brandy's remark about the use of a duck sound in trance, set me on the right path.

Anybody some ideas on how to make a better ending to the track ? It now builds up and then just kinda stops.

Did some work on the kick, added a bit of attack to the bell/organ sound.

I love the part were the glame low pass filter is used. ( 4.49 )
Had a bit of trouble with it though, when rendering the song. Something weird like if the filter was active when it should not be.
Fixed it by adding at the start of the track another Glame lowpass automation part, just to make sure it is doing nothing at the start.

Very happy with the sound that replaces the foghorn.

Do you guys think I am done too ? ( as always be honest :) )

I hope you're all be bopping you're head at 3.38, and go out of you're mind at 5.50 :P

Enough talk for now:

Off topic
( Dr Dre ring ding dong, I know you are bopping you're head, cause I can see ya :P )
To give my self some feedback.

After listening to trance ( progressive and classic trance) I decided that my bassline needs a different sound.
remember that is is sometimes a good idea to not listen to the track for several days.

That's probably my biggest problem, to eager to finish. :)

I noticed a lot of trance having this wobble ? like base. My track has this ( an off beat bassline ) but because of the sound I picked this wobble was not so present as it prob should be.

Hard to put in word, but I think I am starting to understand, why my track sounds different from a lot of trance.

:pp
I noticed a lot of trance having this wobble
that was exactly what my vid-tut on delay-trance bass instruments was all about
You use a punch on ofbeat, but allow a delayed low delay 'reply' so you gwet kind of a
