The good news I have not given up yet.

I do have issues getting the vamp plugins to show in audacity.

Its should be as easy as copy the vamp folder to the right location, but as usual with computers, its plug and prey. ;)

Found something interesting, about an TR 707 and a Juno.

Its possible the Newclues did something like that too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vh_5RDi1e4

Now we only need a juno vst and an 808 vst that can do this too :P

Edit:

How to make a awesome (guitar ? ) bass sound within 2 min in lmms.

ZynaddsubFX bass sound, bassbooster and a tad distortion :P

Edit 2

Stil dre, tried a different piano plug in. Jazzbaby with this one the pitch knob on vestige does work.
Will this mean I can get out of tune like Dre ?
I have been quiet but hope to change this soon.

Again my musical hearing / understanding has improved.

Has allot to do with some help from musicbear on a project (trance), me not producing in a while but listening to music.

To keep this short how the bass and drums work together.

Then I am having some computer issues.

I had to update my Linux, and I knew this would mean trouble with lmms.
( vestige missing)

I had however compiled rc 1.2, but sadly just found out, zynaddsufFx, all presets are missing.
The rest of the program as far as I have used seems fine.

On the bright side, I got some memory banks, and now have 8 gig ram.

Now I need to make a decision, if I go for the rolling release of opensuse, or keep the one I am using to type this.
On both however I will at least have to compile a newer release candidate.
Maybe then I can return to actual making noise. :)

Are you referring to the composition or mixing part?

Is there a specific point that you are working on?

Nice to see you back dude. :)
I was wondering, where you disappeared too.
8 GB of RAM? Nice.

Strangely enough, today, I was planning on posting a post, asking you, how is
your house and trance music going. Well, I don't need to do that again. Ha! Ha!
So welcome back man. 8-)

Also, nice to see that musikbear, is helping you with your trance music.
If you need any more music advice, feel free to ask as usual. :)
Most of my problems have to do with me never serious making or playing music before LMMS.

I Knew there was 1,2,3,4 or 1,2,3 for most music, but not much beyond that.

Then I dove into lmms, and tried to cover some tracks.
Looking back, I have learned a lot from it, but it also gave me lots of frustration.

The biggest frustration was my ears telling me I did it wrong, but I did not have a clue on were I went wrong.
My ears missed a lot of details, because of lack of any experience, but they did tell me I had not the same as the thing I was trying to cover.

A simple example, Kraftwerk - the model.

That always sounded to me like all the same notes. ( the background dang, dadang, dadadang with which the song starts)
These days however, I notice its not all the same notes.

And then I am hearing / recognizing in all songs, how the bass and drums carry the melody, and how they introduce a change. I knew this for some part already, but struggled to do this in lmms.
Then musicbear changed my attempt at a trance track and that really opened my eyes.
He did not really change the basic of the song, but he did turn in into trance.

Hard to explain exactly, but this was helping me big time not just for trance.
Mostly about transitions.

For now if I don't use zynaddsubfx, but synth1 instead, I can work around the issue.

I will also have a talk on discord. Asking for opinions, on rolling releases and lmms.

coincidence does not exist :P

And don't forget to mention my hip hop.

There is something in the pipe line, with Still Dre - Dre, Ice Cube - Gangster rap made me do it, rappers delight -sugar hill gang, Jam on it - newcleus, and some thing of my self.

In the not a cover part, in the good tradition of hip hop, I will sample something.
Will be fun if people will recognize, from which track I took a "sample".

Its some violin loop, and not an actual sample but a midi recreation in lmms, with help from a midi file I downloaded.

Ooooh, hiphop eh? :)
Interesting.

Don't know if you'll be interested, but I made a swell sound tut, and a ton of new sound tuts.

As for the swell sound, it was made using Synth 1 and it might come in handy
for some of your rap songs and house music. ;)

What I get from your answer is the benefit of the interaction with the peers (you say that musikbear allowed you to understand something).

The history of music is long for a single person

Funny that you mention a swell sound.

Sounds like that is one thing I start to notice in tracks. ( to hide the music is repetitive )

I love you sound tuts.
I learn allot form it. :)
