I agree, there are too many good resources to pay for much of anything information wise. Thanks, musikbear!

That video answered a few of my questions, thank you.

Never realized I could have a percussion slider in the mixer. :)

One question though, the volume knobs of the instruments, do you use them too ?

If the preset as such need to be sound-adjusted, then i use that dial, because it will be saved together with the preset's other settings. In mixing, i almost never use it.

Nice tut, though what you call layering I'm more used to calling grouping. It's certainly a lot easier to get a decent balance in the mixer than by fiddling with the volume controls on the individual instruments.

It's a shame we haven't got pan controls in the mixer...it would be a lot easier to manage the sound stage in there too.

Do you often use effects on the grouped/layered channels ? I can't think of much that I might need at that level except maybe a limiter and even then it's probably better on the track that is causing the problem.

Happy that you liked the tut :)

No.
it is as you say, perhaps a limiter, or for the percussion, a compression, but other effects than that, i cant remember to have used for a group.
-But i guess something like a tape-stop, could be a candidate.

Once again thank you for those tutorials.

Finally I know what that range option does. :)
