I know this is a wip, but this is sounding really really good musikbear. 8-)
I like the uplifting tone of it.
1:52 secs upward is my favourite part. 8-)
It sounds kinda familiar a bit.
Is this a remake of one of your previous tracks, many of us listened to?

Mine too, but it is the part before that i feel is weak.
It sounds kinda familiar a bit.
Ooo not intended, and i hope i diddent 'borrowed' something by chance

No i threw everything out, because the previous tracks was simply depressing or moody, not the trance i like, so i made this in the mold of that tutorial slipstick linked to :)
I like the uplifting tone of it.
That im happy about, because its really that im aiming at, not the moody dark stuff i already made :)
Thank you and that does help.

The progress was mostly about me starting to hear the relation between the bassline melody and drums.
Next step is figure out how to do this in lmms, and mostly when I compose something my self.

What I mend with the changes. In the piano roll, length of notes used for chords, and when the next chord starts, in Trance most are twice as long.

Oh my. Sorry.
What I should have said was, that it sounded sort of familiar, to a Trance track you made last year.
I can't remember the name though.
I almost thought it was an upgraded remake, of one of your past tracks.

The answer you gave me here, explains it all.
Makes alot of sense now. 8-)

Yep. It really does sound really uplifting.
Which would explain why I like it so much.
Great job dude. 8-)

When you say chords, are you speaking about the chords for the pad sounds?
Or chords for a melody?

From what I've noticed, normally when making a melody in trance music, shorter notes are used most of the time.
Say for eg. 1/16th in length. Or notes, slighty longer or shorter than that, used together with shorter or/and longer notes.
It also depends, on the unique melody you're making too and how you want it to sound.
So play around with notes and note lengths, as much as you want.
Have fun. 8-)

YES!
You are exactly right there.
8 bar is short
16 is average and most used
Psy / Goa goes often 32 Ooo .., but then mushrooms are added to the mix.., im afraid

Mabye this helps explaining what I mean. The guy uses ,how Musicbear calls it 8 bars ( not 4)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO5u7hNA1mo

At 0.56 you can see what I am on about. :) Most is eight bars with one piece of 4 bars, At 1.50 you see ( of course) the same.
Have you tried making a long chord, then using Automation track to change the pitch over time. It can make a relaxing tone if done right. Then it can also make a real eerie tones also.

This tutorial is really good ! His drum line is very good & he explain very well with example like the arpeggios etc..

When will you show us your progress Gps? :)
I was about to. Progress enough to share but no cigar yet. :P

As it is now it is totally unintentional, a nice time-line of the struggle. It is at points to much house like, In the end though I am getting closer,
I know whats wrong, mostly its in the organ part I have for the melody, or should I say lag of melody, or not trance suited melody, (to much house like)

Will fix it. Slowly starting to understand a bit about trance. Its hard to get the right note lengths and chord change timing tight.

To make trance this is an very important part, and how trance differs from a lot of other also classic dance, disco tracks music.

@ Eino I think I will need a lot of automation.for real trance (modern dance music) I will need to add, I hope I name it right a lowpass filter, That how they make those muted parts. Welcome back :)

@ Brandy at 2.50 most clearly you can hear how I make parts twice as long, that's what I was on about before.

Very happy with drums for now. loo loud at the start, but I remember one of the webpages explaining trance, about having it coming out of a filter.
