... but it does have some special DAW buttons that I know nothing about ...
I have same and works just like a charm. Installing its own driver (available at roland.com) it works with lmms even without hardware midi interface ... simply via usb connection.

But I'm curious if you found out more about the daw buttons / daw control settings for lmms in mean time ... using google brought me to here ;)

I use a Yamaha psr e-243 with an M-audio sp2 pedal.
Can you please
1) Tell us what OS you use
2) NOT ever again post hidden links to illegal websites!

Hi I bought Nektar Impact GX61 and tested it in ubuntu 18.04.04 and ubuntu 20.04.
I'm able to play with it and can connect volume from keyboard to volume in LMMS, pitch works by default.
There are some additional buttons which I'm not sure if work they (previews, next, stop, play, record), as I bought this midi keyboard to learn myself play on midi keyboard as on piano.

* Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (also tested in Ubuntu 18.04.04)
* Stock Ubuntu
* Nektar
* Impact GX61

Roland A-500PRO MIDI Keyboard Controller
USB MIDI Cable Interface
Windows 10 Home 64 bits version 2004

Everything works in LMMS 64-bit :
Keyboard with velocity and pitch bend, knobs, sliders and pads
Only thing not usable in LMMS is aftertouch which is available on this keyboard (keys and pads)
