I need to cut frequencies.
Exactly right. Duelling freq. will make this happen, and also if one instrument in the mix, is in 'red', it can 'eat the others', even if master is in green!

I have seen presets in Synth 1, called gated, but I do now have the slightest idea what it means.
Or how to make it.
Here you have an example of Gated chords
https://youtu.be/rpS2FNGnMds?t=2m42s
But this is made in FL Studio, so you have to find a plugin (idk if LMMS have a TranceGate) or use a preset from Synth1 (and try to understand how they crate the gated effect)
Trance Gate really add rythm in trance, give it a try and let me know !
PS : T-Force Trance gate can do the job ->
http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... te&id=1284
It's the one included in the T-force Alpha Plus VSTi, but this is just the effect, so you can use it on any synth ! Enjoy

Downloaded that vst, will give it a try on Linux. Now I also get what gated means, I of course recognized that sound instantly.

Trying the T force transgate.
I already had the T Force vst so now I am trying this gate on that vst.
Happy it seems to work on Linux too. Not happy that I don't have a clue on how to use it yet. Another puzzle to solve.

Question time.
I start to wonder is this gate vst works right on Linux.
The thing I notice is that the speed goes up and down. The speed of the steps it makes. I am talking about the buttons marked with a blue square that go from left to right.
Is it supposed to do this, or is this a Linux / wine related issue ?
It sounds horrible.
Also tried the triple ossicilater, and that one does seem to work fine. ( what musikbear showed in this topic)

Found a few good LMMS Trance tutorials.
Music hacker.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3rIduNXSgs
He has more great vids, also about different edm styles and also basic and advantaged lmms use.
Noticed a few things.
A lot or most trance has this higher and lower notes thingy. (Piano roll, lets say 5 notes, and then 5 notes an octave higher in the spaces of the other 5)
The bassline he makes is something I am gonna try,
His melody is different from what I have tried. Hard to put in words, but it helps me to see were I go wrong.

Aah!
So you found the tuts from the
legendary Lazerblade aka
music hacker.
His tuts are awesome!
He's a old school hardstyle trance fan.
Strange thing was, I was planning on checking out his tuts again today.
Check out Lazerblades hardstyle music track, on youtube.
It's awesome!
It's still one of my favourite hard style tracks, for the past 4 years.

I remember seeing that same tut where he did that. I was surprised at how easily he did that melody.
And making it sound good.

If you record a simple 8 bar note played with zasfx |pads | 0003analog-pad01
in each of the 4 default trancegate presets, i will compare. It would be interesting if there is a difference from linux to win, in this respect, and maybe even something that would need attention.
