I would be quite pissed off I had paid 600 euro for Cubase and then seeing it crash...

mmm yess, but remember he is screen recording, so the culprit is most likely not the well-renounced cubase :)
That is true. Very true. Cubase is quite trusted though
That is a very good point, he is screen recording. :)
Even the Juicylicious Fruitiness of Fruity Loops is no match for the Cubasious Cubiness of Cubase. Wrd. 8-)
I made a tongue twister funny.
Cubase prob is the oldest daw (sequencer) still around.
Proof :p

The big difference, with what we do with LMMS, is that our computers generate the sound.
The Atari ST did not make the sound, the Atari with Cubase was the sequencer, sending midi out data to a synthesizer.
Or recording midi data.

Skip forward about 20 years or maybe even more, and Programs like lmms and fruityloops appear.
AtariST 1986....
Changes:
Made the bass-line fatter, by:
Cloning the bassline track, Put the notes of the clone an octave down, lowered in zynaddSubFx, sustain and decay.
Changed the choir pad already there. (Different preset)
Added a choir in the breaks.
Added a pad, another ZynaddSubFX track.
Changed two drum presets to Hydrogen ones.

A bit different eq, I think the low end sounds more pro now.
Added a clap. (every 16 beats)

Feel free to be critical, I wonder a bit about the e.q. Its better but hmmm ? Problem I have with equalizers in general, I keep changing them.

For winamp and the winamp like mp3 player XMMS, I have on windows and Linux always saved eq presets.
I end up with a few presets, because of the different mp3.

No idea if the pads really belong to old school house, but I am very happy with them.

Noticed something quite annoying.
When I export the track, it does as wave in XMMS, not sound 100% the same as played in lmms.
Mostly the hi hats en the clap. They are more present in the wave file.
I have no idea, why this happens. Are my ears still getting better? Is it always there, but more noticeable with this track?
Did I change something in openSUSE(Linux) ?
And a fresh version, Deleted one clap and made it softer.
Turned down decay a bit further on the ZynaddsubFX bassline.
Changed the easyQ settings.

Much better then the uplaod from yesterday, what do you guys think? I think I can call this one finished, although I still want to try side chaining.

Sounding good Gps. 8-)

Nice change up at 1:03 secs.
Nice change up at 2:36 secs.
Nice change up at 4:07 secs.
It is good that you changed up the melody a bit, to avoid the melody being repetitive.
Good job.

That's an interesting voice sample you used there. If possible, get another nice one, and try and mix up the 2.

Tips:
If you're using Synth 1 for the main melody piano synth, automate the Synth 1 Freq button(or other buttons) to raise a bit, to give a raising effect on the piano sound. eg. From 24 to 100.

Then, as the rest of the song takes off, reset the Freq or other knobs etc, to make it return to it's original sound.
eg. 100, then right back to 24.
Taa daa!
It makes an interesting rising build up effect.

Also, making a rapid build up drum roll, adds to the overall effect too.

I hope I made sense. This was so hard to write and explain. Lol.
I hope I was able to give you some ideas too.
I'll be back to listen to it again later. 8-)
Thank you.

It's not a real voice sample, its a choir sound from Zynaddsubfx. :)
Not sure if I get the mixing up part.

Or do you mean something like:
I could add another choir part but with short notes. getting some ah ah ah or oh oh ho, over the other choir ?

The piano sound is a vst, 4front piano, and there is nothing to control on that vst.
Pitch on the vestige instrument window does not work.
Plugins through the fx tab do work so if you know of a plugin ?

Would like to have some rise up though. Th only one i can think off is the bpm.
