A lot or most trance has this higher and lower notes thingy. (Piano roll, lets say 5 notes, and then 5 notes an octave higher in the spaces of the other 5)
I remember seeing that same tut where he did that. I was surprised at how easily he did that melody.
And making it sound good.
Yeah I have tried quite a lot already. Shorter notes, longer notes, but both did not fit, with what I have in mind and the type of trance I am trying to make.
The shorter notes did work better though.

He uses longer notes then I have tried until now, but then has a few shorter one when the chord progression comes up.

One of my biggest frustration for now. Hearing I am not doing it right, but not having a clue on how to fix it.
But that vid brought me another step closer.

If you record a simple 8 bar note played with zasfx |pads | 0003analog-pad01
in each of the 4 default trancegate presets, i will compare. It would be interesting if there is a difference from linux to win, in this respect, and maybe even something that would need attention.
Thank you, and here is the link. Started with new file, made some 8 bar zynaddsubfx strings.
Added gate .dll to mixer channel, changed nothing and It stutters awe full for me.

That was the sound I was hoping for, but that not what I hear on Linux.

Thats horrible :/
If any other linux user would chime in, and tell if that is how linux / wine manage this vst, it would be helpful.
Very dismo outcome, im afraid :/

One general trick I know off to solve issues like this on Linux, is to use real .dll's from windows. ( instead of the wine .dll)
The bid question is of course which are the dll I would need. lol.

I had some hope for a while because the t force synth seems to work fine. The gate plugin however...

Lol!
I always had a feeling, that that technique would work. :)
Unfortunately, I never tried it yet.
Because I don't have Linux.

Off topic, I know of gamers who installed a game first on windows, the copied that folder to linux.
Then start the game through wine on Linux.

The big problem, this can break things too on linux(wine), and in general you do not know which .dll to copy from windows.
