Question for musicbear. When you said side chain a pad, Does that mean sidechain to one of the drums or were you thinking of side chaining the piano to that pad ?

Nope. Not the Choir.

From 42 secs to 44 secs.
1:01 secs to 1:03 secs and continues onward.
The voice that says something like, "I like that funky music!" or something like that. Lol! :)

Hahahaha :D

I have been wondering for a while how some of the zynaddsubfx choir presets are made, they definitely sound like some is singing.

First, your track is good!
Sidechain is all about making a 'pump' or 'breathing' fake bass.
So a sound that 'lives' of-beat, that is what is sought off.
How to actually implement that is completely open, but compressor-sidechaining to a kick, is a common way to achieve it.
Two advantages:
The sound used for the pump-bass will duck at on-beat, and leave this free for the kick-frequencies, and you have the sound maximized at off-beat.
But a drawn automation-pattern could also be a solution, and you could leave the compressor out. Did that explain it?

A drawn automation pattern :O Nice thought. I had not realized. you can do it that way too.

The more I hear the track the more I am sure that clap has to go,

I am gonna give a typical sound from that time a try, to replace it,

What else as the 808 cowbell ? :P

I wonder if its my interest in hip hop, that makes that sound so recognizable for me .

Do you think it should be louder and wider sounding?

Maybe that works too. The clap was much louder, but I keep lowering the volume. This usual indicated I don't like the sound or it just does not fit.

I haven't tried this yet.
But I found this.
The link for this was on Vst4Free site.
http://99sounds.org/vst-plugins/
It has Reverb too.

I'll check it out tonight, after I eat tons of food. :P

For now that vst does not work well on Linux for me. The gui keeps disappearing.
I might give the windows 64 bit vst a try.
